What kind of equipment is used for training?

Arthur McNeil has the best-equipped networking; internetworking and Cisco laboratory facilities. Our array of equipment includes series 2500,2600,3000, 4000 and 7000 routers; 2509, 2511, 5200 Access Servers; 1900, 2900, 3500, 5000 Catalyst Switches series; Cisco ACS, IDS, VPN, Cisco Pix ASA, Checkpoint firewall's; Sun Solaris, and much more.

What makes your school different from the others?

We emphasis immensely on a hands on, visual and auditory approach towards learning. While, other schools offer only a one dimensional training approach that minimally touches upon practical, real world experiences.   

Is the school licensed to teach?

The Institute is authorized with the New Jersey Department of Education and Department of Labor as a private vocational school. This means the institute can accept applications from students participating in workforce development and job training programs.

What are the qualifications of your instructors?

All our instructors have the necessary qualifications and certifications relevant to your course of study. In addition, they are all professionally employed in these areas as well.  This gives our instructors a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge that is essential to helping you gain a mastery over the subject matter.

What type of material do you use for training?

We use official industry certification books and materials.

Do you offer student loans or financing?

Student loans are available through www.salliemae.com.  Most applications will be approved in as little as 20 minutes.

Do I need a college Degree?

A college degree is not required to take certifications, however a high school diploma or GED is required to attend classes.

Can the course be applied as a college credit?

This is solely at discretion of the particular College or University. However, some certifications and modules can be transferred as College credits if willingly done so by your educational institution.

Do I need to any prior IT knowledge before I begin my classes?

The training facility offers the student the chance to begin the career change into computers without any prior background in network technology. However, depending on a student’s expertise level, they may be able to flash forward into more challenging course levels.

What information do I need to register?

Two forms of official identification, High School diploma/ GED or proof of completion and payment for registration and tuition fees.

How soon can I register for a class or a program?

Our registration process is ongoing; however the minimum time required for registration is two weeks prior to the start of class.

Do I have to pay for my own books?

All class materials are included within the tuition cost.

Do you provide free retakes?

Yes, free retakes are provided as long as the student attends over 80% of the initial course and completes the assigned coursework.  The retake is valid for one year after the initial course has been completed.

Can I make up classes if I am sick?

Yes. Missed classes can be made up.

How long are the classes?

A typical course will run between 2 to 3 months.

How long are the programs?

A typical program can run from 6 to 18 months.

How many students per class?

Our classes allow our instructors to give individualize attention to our students. Therefore, allowing our classes to be more personable compared to other institutions that offer similar programs with inflated tuition costs.  Our maximum student/ teacher ratio is 12:1.

How much lab time is given in a course?

Depending on the course, lab time can account for as much as 50% of the total course time.

Can I take a certification test at your facility?

Arthur Mc Neil is an Authorized Prometric Testing Center (APTC), so once a course is completed the student can take the official exam at Arthur McNeil Institute.

How do I contact Prometric to schedule a test?

To schedule your exam, contact Prometric at 1-800-755-3926.  Our Testing facilities identification code is NJ 73.

Do you offer job placement?

After each student attains there certification, Arthur McNeil will help aid their students by providing them with the necessary tools to seek employment.

Is certification required for job placement?

Yes, Arthur McNeil strongly recommends students to become industry certified, corporations seeking graduates from Arthur McNeil Institute requires certification. 

Can I set up an appointment to visit the school?

Here at Arthur McNeil, we understand life’s demanding schedule sometimes prevents us from catering to strict business hours. Therefore, we are highly flexible and appointments can be scheduled at your convenience.

Would I be able to evaluate a class?

We advise any prospective student to evaluate our institution on the premises of our Laboratory equipment, instructor’s professionalism and presentation, and quality of the course work.  This process would help the student visualize their educational experience at Arthur McNeil Institute.
