Arthur McNeil Institutes course prepares students for the Cisco CCIE Security track via a combination of lectures, handouts, discussions, exercises and extensive hands-on lab time. The courses main emphasis focuses on preparing students for the CCIE lab exam.

The written and lab exams test different types of knowledge. The qualification exam is a 2 hour multiple choice computer based exam. The lab exam is an 8 hour practical hands on exam.

This course prepares students to take two examinations and pass one certification. The CCIE Security Certification. Whilst taking the course, CCIE students are given access to Arthur McNeil Institute’s online Cisco Telnet Rack.

CCIE Security Lab exam

The Cisco CCIE Security Lab certification training course allows students to focus on areas of weakness, strengthen more familiar topics, and improve their speed. The class will cover topics such as security protocols, operating systems, application protocols, general networking, security technologies, and Cisco security applications.

Passing the lab exam requires a considerable depth of understanding of Cisco security equipment and general networking. This understanding is difficult to get except with hands-on experience in a lab situation, which is what Arthur McNeil Institute offers.

Prior training includes both the CCNA, CCNP and CCSP Classes to strengthen weak areas to expose the candidates to key topics. Study in a lab environment for the CCIE Security Lab exam is probably the single most important factor determining success or failure. The CCIE Security lab exam is a practical exam - your class  must be practical as well. Passing the CCIE Security lab exam requires knowledge of the Cisco command set and a facility with equipment. Using commands that only comes with repeated practice in different scenarios is a prerequisite for this study, and a stumbling block for many candidates, is equipment to practice on.
